Making Disciples

Tonight was an awesome night at our Bible study at JRMU.  One of the guys that attends is named Gabriel, which is such a fitting name for him, because he is like a messenger sent from God.  You know me, I always think I'm not good enough or smart enough or don't bring as much to the table as someone else, but tonight Gabriel made me realize that what Lisa and I do coming and studying the Bible with these guys is making disciples and that is just what Jesus told us to do and just emphasized what an important job that we do.  And we had talked about being filled with the Holy Spirit and asking for wisdom and I shared that sometimes I don't feel that even though I pray for it that I don't receive it and he said that I had a lot of wisdom because every time we read a section of scripture, I always have something to add to help make it clearer or more pertinent.  He just helped me see something in me that I never saw and it overwhelmed me to think that I sometimes doubted the affect that we were having in our ministry.  God spoke through Gabriel to help me see what an important work we are doing, sometimes just by showing up and letting them know we care about them and show them love and acceptance.  I just thank the Lord for being such an awesome, awesome God!!!
