Settling In

Here I am in Clarinda, IA.  It's hard to believe I've only been here one week and it's starting to feel like home.  I love being able to see my grandchildren, Skye and Cody, every day!  I had OASIS training yesterday for my new job and "WOW", the assessment one has to do on new clients is pretty overwhelming.  But like all new things, it will get easier every time I do it.  I have soooo much to learn, even just the medications!  I've been away from adult care for so long I don't even know what drugs are out there.  But it will be good for this old brain to have to relearn all this stuff.  I met some really nice nurses at the training yesterday and feel pretty at home even though I haven't even worked any days yet.  Curt will be coming down again this week-end to bring the "big stuff", since we had some mix-up with our U-Haul last week.  It will be nice to have something besides a camp chair to sit on in the living room :)
