Where does the time go? It seems ages since I have sat at the computer and read anyones blogs and I found that some of you bloggers out there are just as delinquent as I am about posting. But it was great to get caught up on them. I was gone for a week down in Lincoln and KC and it was wonderful spending time with my family. But now it is work as usual, and I am still faced with the remodeling mess. Painting and varnishing and cleaning up the dust and putting everything back, and on and on. And now the weather is warming up so I want to get outside and get the yard cleaned up. So much to do and so little time. So if I don't find time to blog you will understand. Looking forward to a day off so I can roll up my sleaves and get busy! I'll be sending pictures soon.

Taquiner

According to a poster I saw "taquiner" is "the state of being cheered". Now I have not been able to find this word in any dictionary I have at home so is this truely a word? Then I find this birthday card and this is the inscription inside the card: Happy birthday. Let's all sing. Wishing you the best of BLING! What the world is BLING? Am I really out of the loop or what? Is BLING an acronym or is this really a word? I guess I need to improve my word power.
Anyway, back to taquiner...at my workplace we are suffering from low moral and less than positive attitudes so they brought in a speaker to help cheer us up and inspire us. Well, I don't know if any of you have heard of her but her name is T. Marni Vos. If you ever get a chance to hear her you should go. She was really good and basically what I came away with is that you can't control what happens to you but you can control how you respond to it. And being able to lift some spirits with a little humor always makes the job a little more fun. I wanted to talk to her afterwards but people kept coming up and talking to her and I never got to ask her but just from things she said I think she is from Lincoln, NE, so maybe some of you down there will have an opportunity to see her sometime.
This was a very good time for me to go to this inservice because we are in the process of remodeling our upstairs bathroom and if anything puts a stain on a marriage this is it. Things have not been going as smoothly as we had hoped and Curt has very little tolerance for setbacks. I have gotten a bit short at times also but I keep reminding myself that I can control how I respond to these setbacks and I try and keep a positive outlook. When we get done I will post some before and after pictures. I really thought by now we would be pretty close to being done because we started last Tues. but we special ordered some of the stuff and they haven't come in yet. Thank goodness we have a bathroom downstairs.
This blog is far from inspiring but I felt the need to post something. Maybe when spring comes I will be inspired and share some words of wisdom.
