On the Road Again

Sorry, it's been so long since my last biking entry but as you know from the last one, I had an accident and unfortunetly I decided to take my bike to Gun and Reel to get fixed. After a week of being there I went in and asked about it but the guy in the shop knew nothing and said that if a part had been ordered they had come in that day and he was sure it would be done by Monday. So on Tuesday since I hadn't heard anything, I called again and talked to the same young man and he told me the guy that works on the bikes broke his toes the day before but thought he would be in on Weds. So I call on Wednesday, still not back. Call on Thursday and get a really nice helpful guy who actually went back and checked to see about it only to tell me that no one had even looked at it yet! Ok, so now it's been over two weeks that I have not had my bike to train for the CANDISC and he's telling me that NO ONE HAS LOOKED AT IT! Something snapped in me and I started yelling at him, telling him I would never have anything to do with his store again and I would be there in the morning to pick up my bike and take it to Fargo, where I should have taken it in the first place! After I got off the phone I was telling Curt that the guy asked me what exactly did I want them to do with the bike and I yelled "All I wanted them to do is to FIX THE DAMN BIKE!" I rarely swear so you have to know I was VERY upset! I was glad I didn't swear to the guy at Gun and Reel because I would have felt bad but as it was I didn't speak to him at all when we picked the bike up on Friday morning. Of course he was apologizing profusely and had apologized to both Curt and me on the phone the day before. None the less I won't be visiting there establishment any more.
So we went to Paramount Sports where I bought the bike and even though he had others bikes to fix, he put it up on his bike clamp, turned a few screws, tightened up a couple things and in 15 minutes I had my bike back!! They are ordering a new cable guard for the left shifter but they taped up the old one for the time being and it works great! I love those guys!!
Then we went to "Famous Dave's" for lunch, did a little shopping and went to "Prince Caspian" and "Indiana Jones". Yes, a double feature. But you have to realize that our movie theatres in Jamestown are grungy and chairs are broken and the theatres in Fargo are clean and beautiful so we couldn't pass up the matinees. It was a full day!
