Out and About
I've been quite lax about blogging ever since I returned from CANDISC. I haven't really done much biking either which isn't such a good thing but I have been going on more walks. Actually, since I have started working 12 hour shifts at work I am trying to figure out where exercise works into the day.
On August 27, since Curt and I both had the day off, we (or I) decided to go on a road trip to Minnestota. I had at first wanted to go biking but Curt didn't really feel like biking so we decided we would go somewhere we could hike around. Itasca State Park started out as our destination but then I saw in a brochure about a scenic drive that went from Walker to Blackduck. Since we had never been up there we dicided to take it. It really wasn't any more scenic than any other road in Minnesota in my estimation and the "Lost 40" where we were going to go hiking turned out to be really out of the way so we headed back to Bemiji. We saw Paul Bunyan and Babe and walked around a bit there and from there to Itasca. We did get out and hike a nature trail, but all in all it turned out to be a very long day of driving (for Curt anyway).
Then the week-end of Sept. 4-8 we went down to Tim and Amy's and delivered our old table and chairs to them and surprised Amy with a new digital piano. And surprised she was! Brett came for Sabbath dinner and Cindy came to pick up Mom and take her back to KC with her so we got to visit with her for a bit and Ben and Ashley came up from Lincoln for the afternoon and evening. I even got to ride in Tim's plane with Ben flying for a short bit. We even got to watch a katydid break out of its shell. I had not idea that instead of like a cacoon they pose as a big brown bug and then break out of that. It was amazing!
Curt and I joined a health club so hopefully we'll be thinner next time any of you see us. Wish us lots of luck!
Well, that about catches me up to date. I'll try not to be so delinquent.
