Thanksgiving thoughts

Since Thanksgiving is always a time I think about blessings. I thought I should sit and write a blog since I haven't blogged for some time. I actually had my blog all completed and was just proof reading it and was going to correct a mistake when POOF I clicked a wrong button and my whole blog disappeared! The one I had just spent 20 minutes on! Disappears before my eyes, never to reappear again. And now I am very upset and can't even remember all the fine words I had just written. At this time I am not feeling very blessed and am reminded why me and computers have never gotten along.
But if you would have read the blog I would have said that when bad things happen we need to ask ourselves what lesson am I suppose to learn from this experience. Is God trying to tell me to stay away from computers because they are a source of frustration to me? I don't know, I will have to contemplate on this.
But in a nutshell, I was just saying that God is good, all the time. (Sometimes we have to crack the nut to find the blessings.)

I was reading in a book the other day, I forget which one, I'm thinking God Wears Lipstick by Berg, that the more God loves you, the more the opponent tests you. God only allows the opponent to give us as much difficulty as we have love for God. So the more we love God, the more difficult our lives become. She says that when we face no troubles, when our lives go sailingly along, that is when we need to start to worry. Its not that God doesn't love us, its just that we may not be loving God as much as we should. She says that when we talk about God, when we are examples of God's love to others, that makes the opponent mad, and he tries to make us mess up. He tries to make us stumble. But when we don't talk about God, or forget to give him glory, then the devil lets up on us, because we're doing what he wants us to do.

I didn't say it as elequently as she did, but I hope I got the point across. Its kind of a pessimistic way to look at things, but at the same time, the more trouble I'm faced with the more I turn to God to make me say and do the right things to make it go away. So for me, trouble and doubt is a sign that God does love me.

now, your computer problem probably isn't that big of a deal, but still, its a test by the devil to see what you'll do. Will you get mad and decide not to blog anymore? And if you do, why does the opponent want you not to blog? If you ask me, which you didn't, but I'll tell you anyway, I think the opponent was trying to frustrate you because a lot of what you write on your blog points to God and makes us remember him in our daily lives, so the opponent is going to do whatever he can to not get you to blog.

So, keep blogging. :) I enjoy reading them. (I hope this made sense)

Brett, thank you so much for the encouragement! I will persevere and continue blog and maybe even become more literate about computers along the way. And closer to God.
