Fall Cleaning
This week I decided to start cleaning windows. It's a job I really don't enjoy doing but looking through clean windows is definitely satisfying. I have some double hung windows, so I am supposed to be able to wash them all from the inside. Well, I guess I forgot how to do it, so the bottom panes got cleaned on both sides but not the top. Anyway, it was worth a try.
Yesterday, Curt had the day off. He has lost quite a bit of weight and on Sabbath I noted that his suit coat looked quite big on him, so we decided to go to Goodwill and see if we could find a suit coat that fit better. Well, not only did he find one, but two!! And two nice VanHusen dress shirts that fit and looked great with the suit coats! God really blessed!
So when I was trying to get the new clothes in the closet, I thought, "I have to get some of these t-shirts of mine thinned out". I would like the closet to be half Curt's and half mine, but I have always taken up more space than I should. So, I took all my t-shirts out and proceeded to pick out the ones to give to Orphan Grain train (those that have logos on) and folded some that I will use for biking (plain but brightly colored) and put them in a drawer. I'm going to have Curt go through his when he gets home and see if there are any of his he wants to get rid of. So now I have 65 empty metal hangers, not all of them had a t-shirt on, some were empty already. You would think I would have all this room in the closet now...but no. You can't even tell that I got rid of anything. It still looks crowded. 😒 And, no I didn't get rid of any of my National Park t-shirts, they are still taking up space.
Now I need to figure out what to do with all the stuff in the travel room. It's become a catch-all for everything I don't know what to do with and I may need it if the kids come home for Thanksgiving. So that's my next project.
