A Quiet Christmas

I can't believe that Christmas has come and gone, mostly because it really wasn't Christmas to me. On Christmas Eve we were going to go to Aberdeen to spent time with Curt's family but the weather didn't cooperate so we spent a quiet evening watching The Chronicles of Narnia. After dumping 15 inches of snow we didn't make it out to the farm for Christmas morning either. Curt was able to make it to work with his 4-wheel drive but I had to have someone deliver me to and from work all week-end. And here it is Tuesday morning and they just got our street plowed out!! And now we have a nice 3 foot high ridge of such hard snow you can't even begin to shovel it. Curt had to get a ride to work today because he couldn't get out of the driveway. So now we have to pay big time to get someone with a payloader to open up the driveway. If they could have cleaned the roads off right away so the snow wouldn't have been so compacted we might have been able to blow it out or shovel. Hopefully it will get cleaned out by tonight so I don't have to beg for a ride again.
On the brighter side, we did finally get our new windows in the week before Christmas so I was glad no one was coming home for Christmas because the house was a mess. They also put in the patio door in the living room so they had to do some cutting and sheet rocking but the house feels warmer and when they come in the spring to take out the door we'll have to paint the living room. Haven't decided if we will get brave and try some new color or stick with the plain old eggshell.
