Skye's One Year Cupcake Party

Amy wanted to have Skye's 1st birthday party here in North Dakota at my mom's cabin.  So even though her birthday was on June 28th, we didn't have the party until July 1st due to family members arrival times.

The morning of the 1st was quite busy at my house as Amy, Donna (Tim's mom) and I were making cupcakes from the "America's Test Kitchen" cookbook.  Amy had researched out the different cupcake recipes and had decided on two that sounded quite decadent.  We made yellow ones and then a absolutely delicious chocolate one with a chocolate genache filling.  They were frosted with a white buttercream frosting and a rich chocolate frosting.  They were very delicious and the the time spent making them was a nice bonding time for Donna and me.  I was very fortunate to get to know her better, since we had never spent much time together.  The  party was attended by all my children and their spouses, my mom, Brandon, Kristine, Cole and Jordyn, Warren and Carol,  Steve and Donna and of course Curt and myself.
